Within the rectangular glass appear
Well-groomed Politicians of all persuasions
Speaking in well-rehearsed sound-bites
with smiles or gravitas.
Just tell the Hoi-polloi what they want to hear
The watcher sees the thought behind the words.
Yet about the state there is an air of unease
A feeling nothing can dispel
That Government and Parliament are inept
And hidden behind the confident Rhetoric
They are fumbling – badly.
